Tel Aviv is a children friendly city - Here is a choice of fun things that you can do with your kids in the city children of all ages - just go to the beach - children are always happy there and even when the weather is not really warm they enjoy playing around in the sand. If you want to enjoy the water but you don't care for the sand you can take your kids to The Gordon Swimming pool right there on the beach near the Marina - It is very recommended in the hot summer days - the water is very cold it is brought to the pool from the depth of the sea and there are also water slides inside the pool - great fun for the whole family - a refreshing experience I like it and go there a lot in the summer. the site is only in Hebrew but you can see the picture and understand the telephone number for questions :-) CLOSED for the time being (so I hope) Another nice place to take the children to is the parks where they can play in the grass meadows or sail a boat - there are nice playing grounds for children and also many children attractions.
wonderful place for children. In the west side of Park Hayarkon there is a part called the Sportek where there are basketball and football terrains - and there is a great climbing wall Olympus tel: 03-6990910 which I highly recommend for families with kids all ages (of course I don't mean babies) if you go further east along the Yarkon River there is a the Mini Golf (Hebrew) tel. 03-6990229 where you can play mini golf with your kids and than a little pet corner and more children playgrounds. Also near by there is the Tsapari attraction that houses several species of exotic birds in a beautiful tropical garden setting, tel. 03-6422888. Amusement Parks: there are two in Tel Aviv area one is the in the north of Tel Aviv and it is called Luna Park and the other is Superland in Rishon Lezion 03-9619065 Superland is more fancy and I rather recommend it though it is not in the city and it takes about 30 minutes to reach it by car or bus - go only if you must it is not Disney Land ...or Alton Towers Memadion is a water park located in Hayarkon Park not far from the Luna Park. It can be an exiting day out for small children. The downside is that it is usually very crowded. Tel: 03-6422777 The Safari in Ramat Gan (about 20 minutes from TA) is a great day out if your kids like animals The Holon children museum in Holon (30 minutes from TA) is very nice even for small children for older children 8+ a nice interactive science museum is Havayeda in Holon as well. The Planetarium ( webpage in Hebrew only) in Museum Haaretz look very interesting from outside - inside the show is a quite old and boring film called a Journey through the Universe Babies and small children - DIADA center on Ben Gurion - here you can give your baby some quality time course like jamboree or other and you can have a nice healthy meal in the garden restaurant of the complex. A new place that attracts the young yuppie mothers I heard the food is nice. Diada 75 Ben Gurion Ave Tel 03 5244484 Bowling Tel-Aviv, 124 Eben Gvirol Street tel: 03-5237222 is also a great entertainment place for the whole family also an elegant Billiard Lounge Bar at the same location tel: 03-5233677 Click here to see a choice of special children stuff shops in Tel Aviv |
